10th International Conference on the Scientific and Clinical Applications of Magnetic Carriers

Approximately 400 participants will gather in Dresden, Germany, for the 10th International Conference on the Scientific and Clinical Applications of Magnetic Carriers, to be held on June 10, 2014. The conference, hosted by the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the Technical University of Dresden, will run for five days and cover a range of topics related to magnetic carrier technology.

The meeting is being organized by Dr. Stefan Odenbach, Chair of the Magneto-Fluid Dynamics, Measuring, and Automation Technology Department at TU Dresden and Dr. Urs Hafeli, Associate Professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Scheduled talks will cover a range of topics related to magnetic carriers

Participants from a variety of backgrounds will meet to exchange information and ideas related to the science of magnetic carriers. Discussions will focus on the latest research and technological developments in nanoparticle synthesis and design. Presenters will also examine the growing therapeutic and diagnostic relevance of magnetic carriers, including the emerging role of nanoparticles in magnetic imaging and biosensors. Exciting advances in therapeutic applications such as magnetic drug delivery and hyperthermia are also slated to be covered.

Registration deadlines and call for submissions

Submissions for publication of full papers in the IEEE Magnetics Society “IEEE Transactions on Magnetics” are currently being accepted. Papers will be published in a special issue dedicated to reporting the most recent findings in the magnetic carriers field. The deadline for submitting relevant articles is June 30, two weeks after the close of the conference.

A list of slated presentations and poster titles is available and can be accessed via the conference’s main site. Abstract submissions for both posters and presentations have now been closed, but online registration will remain open until June 2.
